1) Do not fill the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during cooking such as rice or dried vegetables, do not fill the unit over 1/2 full. 2) Make sure that the vent tube is clean and clear of any blockage before closing the lid. Just look through the vent tube to see if light is visible. Wash your cooker in hot soapy water.
